Veterinarians take an oath to help animals in need, and if they are sick or injured because of human action, then it's our human responsibility to solve the problem, especially when we have the resources.
These days, nothing is truly wild any more. Humans have intruded on every corner of the globe. But that doesn’t mean we can’t help animals live healthy, natural lives. I feel responsible for the health and well being of wild animals - no matter where they live. Whether the edge of an animal’s world is defined by a park border, a zoo moat, or the glass wall of a thousand-gallon tank, its survival depends on us. It takes people—healthy people—to save wildlife.
