Why did you decide to become a zoo and wildlife vet?

From an early age, I fell in love with animals and nature—and science. I lived on an old dairy farm and we had room for a menagerie of animals. Taking care of our dogs, cats, horses, goats, guinea pig, rabbits, and parakeet taught me about the challenges and satisfactions of animal care. I decided this was the kind of job I wanted when I grew up.
