I visited the susa group in March 08 and did not see the cough or herpetic lesions when did this start?

Dr. Leslie, thank you for your question.  The outbreak of illness in Susa Group was in May 2008.  All of the gorillas are okay although we did treat a mother and baby as you've read on the blog.  The herpes-like lesions have occurred before and will likely recur.  We hope to learn something from our biopsy on Ururabo, but we also know we may need many more samples before we can draw a conclusion.
