Getting into Vet School

Hi Dr. Lucy!

My name is Kristin Haitz and I am currently an undergraduate at UC Davis. My hopes are to apply for vet school at Davis and become a exotic veterinarian. This year my goal is to find internships and experience but I was also wondering if you have any advice? Any professors that you know or colleagues at Davis that would mind chatting about such an endeavor. I've always known that I wanted to be a vet but now discovering the path I want to take has not only become exciting but scary as well!

I wish you the best of luck on your adventures and love to hear from you soon

thank you so much for your time

Kristin Haitz

Hello Kristin My best advice is to find ways to volunteer or work with animals. This is the only way you will know if this is what you truly want to do. So if you are at UC Davis, visit the vet school and see if there are postings for "help needed." It could be you will find yourself helping to clean up after horses or dogs...but at the same time you will be learning about how to care for creatures. Good luck!
