How did you choose the cases in the book?

We hoped to share with readers a variety of species and medical problems, and show that vets truly do treat all creatures great and small, from beetles to whales.  But we didn’t pre-select the stories—we simply asked our colleagues for their most memorable cases.  It just worked out that we came up with a representative variety.
